The transience of existence reminds us of how quickly and imperceptibly the moments that make up our lives pass away. We are constantly moving forward, consumed by plans, goals and objectives, but rarely think about the value of the present. In this race, we often lose touch with ourselves and what is happening around us, forgetting the need to stop in the moment.
Stopping in the moment is not only a way to slow down, but also an opportunity to realise that each moment is unique and unrepeatable. Being “here and now” helps us to feel the real joy of life, to notice the little things that usually escape attention in the hustle and bustle. When we stop, we learn to be grateful for what we already have and begin to look at the world with more open eyes.
The transience of life pushes us to realise that neither the past nor the future can give us the sensations of the present moment. And if we learn to appreciate every such moment, we may find greater harmony with the world and ourselves.
